Responsible handling of personal data is a high priority for the City of Halle (Saale). When you visit one of our Internet pages, we process and store personal data exclusively in accordance with the statutory provisions (Basic Data Protection Ordinance DSGVO, Telemedia Act TMG, Federal Data Protection Act BDSG and Data Protection Act Saxony-Anhalt – DSG LSA).

With each access to one of the aforementioned pages and with each call of a file, general data are automatically stored over this procedure in a log file. The storage serves exclusively system-related and statistical purposes (on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 letter b) DSGVO), as well as in exceptional cases for reporting criminal offences (on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 letter e) DSGVO). The data of your Internet browser (IP addresses) are transmitted to the provider of the site, in our case to the IT service provider IT-Consult Halle GmbH. Your data will be deleted as soon as your request has been completely processed and/or answered.
b.) Newsletter:
We would be pleased to inform you about current topics concerning the city of Halle (Saale) and its facilities via our newsletter. We need your name and e-mail address to send you a newsletter. You can enter both in the fields provided. Your data will be processed by us only for the purpose of sending the newsletter.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with future effect and thus object to the further use of your data. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at the end of each newsletter or at any time in the press portal.
Your data will be stored by us until you withdraw your consent to no longer receive the newsletter.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter b) DSGVO, or by clicking on the confirmation link your consent and thus Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter a) DSGVO).

To do this, we require various information from you, such as first and last name, address and e-mail address. You will also be asked to enter a user name and set up a password to secure your account.
Again, you will receive an email from us to the email address you provided, in which you must click a confirmation link.
Depending on the portal, you may be able to enter additional data after registration or set up a user name and password of your choice.
Your data will only be used by us for the purpose of administering the entries and, if necessary, for contacting you in connection with the registration. Contributions in discussion forums or other publicly accessible participation formats are displayed on the portal with the user name chosen by you. Your data will be stored as long as you are registered. If you delete your account, your data will also be permanently deleted.
The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter b) DSGVO, or upon completion of your registration your consent and thus Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter a) DSGVO).

We additionally use so-called cookies in some areas of our Internet offer. These file elements allow your computer to be identified as a technical unit during your visit to this website in order to make it easier for you to use our services – even if you make repeat visits to this website. In order to fulfil this task, your data may be passed on to the relevant municipal specialist departments, service centres, own operations, our commissioned service provider IT-Consult Halle GmbH, Bornknechtstraße 5, 06108 Halle, or to the relevant city’s competent service providers. when using the online platform “Sag´s uns einfach” to Teleport GmbH, Herrenstraße 20, 06108 Halle, when using “Rechne mit Halle” to the service provider AV-Studio Kommunikationsmedien GmbH, Mühlweg 41, 06114 Halle as well as – if necessary for processing the request – to the Stadtwerke Halle, housing companies, the police, state authorities or the job centre.
A transfer to a third country does not take place on our part.
Otherwise, your data will only be passed on if there is a legal obligation to do so or if you have consented to it.
5. rights of data subjects
You have the right to obtain information about your personal data stored by us (art. 15 DSGVO, e-mail: datenschutzauskunft@halle.de) as well as their correction (art. 16 DSGVO) or deletion or restriction of processing (art. 17, 18 DSGVO).
Furthermore, there is a right of objection (Art. 21 DSGVO) to the processing, insofar as it is not carried out exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling tasks; a right to transferability (Art. 20 DSGVO) of the data provided by you. If you have consented to the processing by means of a corresponding declaration, this can always be revoked with future effect.
Should you make use of the above-mentioned rights, the City of Halle will check whether the legal requirements for this have been met.

6. use of the analysis tool Matomo
Our internet platform uses Matomo (previously Piwik, https://matomo.org), an open source software to analyze visitor accesses to this site.
Matomo uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about the use of these pages is stored on our servers in Germany and is not passed on to third parties. The IP address of each visitor is anonymised immediately after processing and before it is stored.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website.
You can also object to the use of your data by Matomo by making use of the option described below.

7. storage duration
Unless otherwise regulated by the relevant procedures, we store your personal data only as long as this is necessary for the respective purpose (see section “Scope, purposes and legal basis of data processing”). In all other cases, we will delete your personal data, with the exception of data that we have to further store in order to fulfil legal obligations (e.g. tax or commercial law storage obligations).
